I'm back!
Back from a wonderful weekend in The City of Gentle People called Dumaguete!
My newest travel buddy and I took advantage of Philippine Airlines' seat sale that happened last January of this year and got ourselves a round-trip ticket to Dumaguete for a good price of Php1,570.00/each. Since she has school and I have my own thing to take care of, we decided to check out the place only for the weekend.
We took an early flight to Dumaguete so we'll be able to tour the city before checking out their beach. We were both excited because the trip has a lot of firsts for us:
- Both our first time in Dumaguete
- First time to travel backpack style
- First time to travel together
After an hour of being on the plane, I was excited to get to the city and explore the town.
Just right before you exit from the airport, there's a table full of brochures with information about the accommodation prices of different hotels, inns, pension houses and beach resorts in case you haven't secured a place during the visit. You may also ask the receptionist on how to get around Dumaguete.
To get to the city, we took a taxi for Php150.00. Trivia: I learned from a local that there's only a total of 8 taxi units in Dumaguete. Unbelievable, right?
After roughly 15 minutes, we're already walking the streets of Dumaguete City and looking for breakfast.
Next stop, breakfast!
