It's Misa de Gallo time once again! To my fabulous friends here in Blogalag, you all know that I complete the 9-day dawn mass every year. And this year is no exception.
I already attended the first of the nine dawn masses this morning at St. John Bosco Parish Church along Pasay Road in Makati City.
My friend and I went there 45 minutes before the mass started so we can get good seats inside. At 10 minutes before 4:30am, the church was already jam-packed.
The mass was solemn and the choir was good. As with all my dawn masses, I always thank the Mighty Being for continuously showering us with blessings, for always guiding and protecting us and for unconditionally loving us. Since I won't be able to spend Christmas and New Year with my precious family, I know that He will take care of them for me and we will all have a blessed Christmas.
For 2009, although I didn't ask God for any material possessions, He generously gave me more than enough to let me experience the beauty of traveling and of owning wonderful things which I certainly didn't expect. For 2009, I asked God to bless my family with good health and He indeed made that happen. There were a few times when we were striken with illnesses but they were nothing that we couldn't handle.
Now for 2010, good health for my family still tops my list. Financial stability comes in next. Stability because I want to be able to see my family and visit them more often. Good health because I want us to spend more time together as a family. Stability because I can use whatever I have to help more people. Good health because I want to touch more people's lives.
I texted my dad as soon as my first simbang gabi mass ended. He replied, telling me that completing the 9-day dawn mass and praying for our family are the best gifts that I could give them this holiday season. I am looking forward to 8 more dawn masses.
After the mass, my friend and I ended up in McDonald's in Greenbelt 1. Sorry guys, no Puto Bumbong for my first day. Maybe tomorrow.
Nevertheless, I still had a good breakfast.
What about you? Are you completing the simbang gabi?
