Before I share with you my Cebu adventures, let me share with you my fantastic dinner date with my wonderful friends first. *smile*
Since we all know that everyone will be busy this coming holiday season, we planned to have a pre-Christmas get together before our social calendars become so full that it will be impossible for us to see each other. We set the dinner for December 5 at Galileo Enoteca Deli in Mandaluyong City. That was just last night. *grin*
I was the one who placed the reservation and was able to talk to the wonderful Vanessa Vitrano, the restaurant's Marketing Manager as well the daughter of owner, Gaetano Vitrano. Since the dinner fell on a Saturday, I had to deposit at least Php1,000.00 to secure the slot. This is just to assure the restaurant that we will show up on the reserved date as there were instances where reservations were placed but no customer in sight on the day itself. Had the restaurant known that they will not push through, they could've given the table to other patrons. Vanessa was also nice enough to give us the best seat in the house. Our spot definitely gave us the privacy and intimacy we wanted.
While waiting for the rest to arrive, we got ourselves a bottle of red wine and some appetizers.
Bread & dips/pate (free!) and Assorted Cold Cuts & Cheese- Php600.00
The cold cuts & cheese platter was happiness. The pepperoni, ham and prosciutto were flavored beautifully. Amongst the different kinds of cheese they piled up on the plate, I fell in love with their mozarella. As for the bruschettas, the flavors of the fresh tomatoes, oregano and olive oil blended wonderfully in my palate.
Soon enough, the rest came and the festive dinner began.
Honey Pecan Salmon Salad- Php370.00
Salami eMortadella Panini- Php180.00 and Spaghetti with Shrimp Scampi in Olive Oil- Php330.00
Italian Bistecca ala Fiorentina- Php350.00
Chicken Breast with Prosciutto- Php350.00
The sweetness of honey and smokiness of the salmon complemented each other which made the salad enjoyable to eat. As for the steak, it was 'bistek' done the Italian way. Nothing out of the ordinary except for the tenderness of the beef. The chicken with prosciutto was definitely satisfying. I do not usually eat the breast part of the chicken as I am a lover of dark meat, but I was happy to note that their chicken breast was moist and tender. Very nice.
We also ordered one of their Set Menus which include Eggplant Parmiggiana, Seared Chicken Quarter with Capers, Garden Salad and a glass of either red or white wine. One of their Set Menus also include any choice of pasta, Cold Cuts & Cheese Platter and a glass of wine. All Set Menus are priced at Php600.00.

2 hours into the dinner when Vanessa gave us a bottle of red wine on the house. We were so lucky to hold our dinner on Galileo Enoteca's 5th Anniversary! Talk about right timing. *wink*
We were having so much fun that it was already near 11 o'clock in the evening when we finally got up and left the scene. The restaurant closes at 10pm and they were so nice to let us stay & enjoy each other company's for another hour.
To Galileo Enoteca, Happy 5th Anniversary!
To my wonderful friends, I had a blast and cheers to more enjoyable dinners!
