I met a good friend last night and this was how our conversation went:
Friend: "Dinner?"
Me: "Yep."
Friend: "Where?"
Me: "Dunno."
Friend: "Let's drive around and see where we can eat."
Me: "Sure."
We drove around Taguig, Makati and before we knew it, we were plying the roads of Manila. We don't have an idea where we were going but we knew that we will end up somewhere fabulous. As we nearly approached a traffic light, my friend looked at me and blurted out "Lolo Dad's?". I just smiled and nodded my yes. In a split second, we were parked in front of the restaurant. It was exactly 9:10pm. The restaurant closes at 10pm.
The moment I entered the small gate of Lolo Dad's Cafe, I instantly forgot that I was in the middle of the city. When we reached our table, I remembered that I didn't bring Nestor with me. So please bear with me as I used Lino's camera.
While we were studying the menu, the wait staff served us bread with whipped butter.
The bread was piping hot and the whipped butter melted beautifully on the bread. We ordered an appetizer, a main entree and a dessert. Once the order has been placed, that's the only time they will make it. I loved watching the kitchen entourage working their way in the open kitchen. Wasn't able to take photos of the place because there were other patrons. Dyahe. *grin*
We were offered wine but since I wasn't in the mood to drink wine, we declined the offer. After a good 15 minutes, the salad arrived.
