This was what my friend asked me when we were chatting over Facebook the other day.
I have heard and seen Dave's Naturals Premium Frozen Yogurt in Legaspi Weekend Market but I never got around to trying out their merchandise. Since it was a holiday last Monday and I won't be in the metro for the weekend market, my friends & I decided to pay Dave's Naturals a visit in one of their branches in Kapitolyo, Pasig.
We went to Poco Deli along East Kapitolyo Drive which houses Dave's Naturals fro-yo. We met wonderful owners Sonny & Joy de Leon who told us that they fell in love with Dave's Naturals when they first tried it and asked Dave himself if they can franchise the brand. Dave said yes and soon, a new branch opened just opposite Charlie's (which a lot of people call as the Holy Grail of burgers).
As soon as we entered the quaint deli, we were welcomed by the many flavors of frozen yogurt, enticing us to try them all.
Aside from the original plain yogurt, there's choco hazelnut, intense chocolate, mango, wildberry, strawberry, cashew, amongst others.
We got so excited that we tried a number of them.
First was the Intense Chocolate.
Then, the Wildberry.
Next was the Original Plain.
Last fro-yo to arrive, the Choco Hazelnut.
The Intense Chocolate was definitely intense! It's like eating a frozen super dark chocolate where any traces of milk or yogurt, for that matter, can't be found. It's a delight to eat! For those who are not into dark chocolates, you can try it with the Original Plain fro-yo. The milkiness and sourness of the original fro-yo will balance out the dark flavor of the chocolate. It's as if drizzling the original fro-yo with pure cocoa. Heaven, heaven. The Choco Hazelnut, on the other hand, was subdued. Once you let the fro-yo roll over your palate, you will notice the nuttiness of this frozen delight. As for the Wildberry, the sweetness of the berries and sourness of the yogurt are pronounced which will put a smile to anyone who gets to taste it.
What I liked most about Dave's is the feeling of eating ice cream when in fact, it is yogurt. The texture, the creaminess and the feel of the fro-yo are similar to ice cream & will definitely appeal to anyone.
The prices are affordable too!
When I get back from my break, I'll visit Poco Deli and buy myself a pint of Dave's.
