It's been a while since I last posted. No worries because I am now here to make it up to all of you. Let's continue on with our adventure.
After our hearty meal at Tsui Wah Restaurant, we went to our first "tourist" attraction for that day- the Sky Terrace and Madame Tussauds Max Museum. Since we vowed not to take the taxi, we consulted our ever-reliable map and the visitor's kit.
Garden Road. If you're taking the MTR, walk from MTR Central
Station and exit J2."
Those were the words of wisdom we got from the visitor's kit. So off we went to the nearest MTR station, Tsim Sha Tsui. It was so much faster and more convenient when you take the subway. It's miles away from the condition of our MRT here in the Philippines. Buying the ticket alone proved to be a lot easier. The only challenged we encounter was finding the J2 exit. The experience was intense.
After 5 years, we finally got to the once-lost-and-now-found J2 exit. We were so thankful to have found it that we even took a photo of the signage.
The moment we hit the last steps of the exit, we were all smiles. As we made our way towards Garden Road, we enjoyed the sights and sounds of HK's Central.
Finally,
we arrived at the Peak Tram Terminal. I can still remember my last
experience riding the Peak Tram and it got me excited to try it the 2nd
time.
As
soon as we got there, a guy handed us a flyer which contained different
combo packages when you intend to visit Madame Tussauds. We got the
HKD180.00 combo package which includes a 2-way Peak Tram ticket +
Entrance to the Sky Terrace + Entrance to Madame Tussauds. As soon as
we purchased the tickets, we queued to board the Peak Tram. On the way
to the Peak Tram are glass windows showcasing a gallery of old stuff
from the Peak's golden days.
My
visitor's kit says that "The Peak Tram has been in operation since 1888
and has been taking people up an incline so steep that buildings look
like they are leaning at a 45-degree angle." After waiting for about 10
minutes, we got aboard the Peak Tram.
It was such a fun ride! It was like a slow rollercoaster ride. LOL.
When we got to the top, we went straight to the Sky Terrace. I lost count of the many escalators that we encountered and the many lighted ceilings that changed colors every 5 seconds which kept us in a trance.
By
the time we got to the Sky Terrace, it was breezy. The weather was
fantastic! I got such a high looking at the landscape, the clouds, the
harbour, the tall buildings and just seeing the enormity of it all.
Bespren
and I stayed at the Sky Terrace for almost 2 hours. We waited for
night to fall so we can see the lights surrounding the harbour. The
sights were so cool that we didn't realize we've been standing for
almost 2 hours.
After
Sky Terrace, we went to visit Madame Tussauds. We had a lot of fun
even though we're unfamiliar with some of the celebrities &
prominent people. I truly admire the workmanship that was put in
making the wax figures. We posed, we laughed, we took photos, we had
so much fun!
I
hope you also had fun looking at some of our photos. All the posing
made us hungry so we decided to grab dinner at this familiar restaurant
we saw along the way.
Be right back!
