MY MT. PINATUBO ADVENTURE

I know, I know.  I haven't been updating my site as often as I used to.  The other side of my life got me terribly busy with a lot of things that I haven't the chance to stop and smell the roses.

Until last Saturday when I decided that it's about time to go out and be one with nature.

4 good friends and I went on an adventure which made us appreciate the world even more.

• 2:45am.  Left Manila.
• 4:45am.  Arrived in Capas, Tarlac.
• 5:45am.  Braved the long, winding and roughest road ever aboard a mean 4x4.

GOING MEXICAN AT AGAVE

A friend and I dropped by Eastwood Mall the other day.  A lot of the stalls are still hungry for tenants but overall, the mall was spacious enough.  It actually reminded me of Gateway Mall in the Araneta area.  There are already quite a few restaurants in the mall but nothing that caught my fancy.  Maybe I wasn't in the mood to eat anything Filipino, Thai or American.  So we went to the establishments across the mall and found a place to grab lunch at.  Agave Mexican Cantina.

I'm not much into Mexican cuisine and if my memory serves me right, the first 2 Mexican restaurants that were introduced to me ages ago were Mexicali and Tia Maria.  And up to now, those 2 are the only Mexican restaurants I've tried.  So I thought of expanding my Mexican cuisine experience by checking out Agave.

It was still early in the afternoon so it was expected that we were the only diners in the restaurant.  I love having the place all to myself.  It's good to eat in peace.  After 15 minutes of placing our orders, our food arrived.

EASTERRIFIC AT PAUL CALVIN'S

I've risen!  Well, not from the dead but from blogging hiatus.  I abstained from blogging since Thursday and I'm still normal.  It turns out that it's possible for me to rest from blogging and not have seizures due to stopping cold turkey.

Anyway, I want to greet everyone a HAPPY EASTER!

Hope everyone had a fruitful and restful Holy Week.

Easter is always a happy day for me because this is the time of the year when our spirits get to be renewed and also the time of year when both our relationships with our Mighty Being and our families become stronger.  And Easter Sunday won't be complete without a celebration.

Speaking of celebration, I had mine at Paul Calvin's Deli.

I've been hearing a lot of nice things about this quaint restaurant and so I thought of giving it a try.  Upon entering the place, I instantly felt its homey atmosphere.  Food was the first thing on my mind.  So without further ado...

ABSTINENCE

Nope, I am not going on any out-of-town adventure this Holy Week.  On the contrary, I am staying put.

I will be back on Easter Sunday.

OFF TO ANIMAL ISLAND, P.2

I should've posted this last week but I'm still experiencing erratic connection from my PLDT DSL.  This is so frustrating.

Anyway, on to my Animal Island experience at the Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park.

After the Changeable Hawk Eagle, we went to see the Cassowary.

The Cassowary is one interesting bird.  Aside from being considered as the 3rd tallest and 2nd heaviest flightless bird, it was also considered as the world's most dangerous bird by the Guinness World Record last 2007.  To date, there are around 150 human attacks caused by Cassowaries and 1 human death out of that 150 attacks.  It is said that a kick from a Cassowary's strong legs and its murderous nail from its 2nd toe can sever an arm or disembowel an abdomen without much effort.

Cassowaries are beautiful birds but vicious too.
