COCO VIDA AT THE ALONA
Back to original programming.
It was our second night in Panglao, Bohol and after the not-so-good dinner at the Jasz Restaurant, we hoped to have a nice meal at the restaurant just beside it, Coco Vida Bar and Restaurant.
I liked the comfortable rattan seats of Coco Vida and of course, the fact that every table is facing the beach. Just hearing the waves splash on the sandy shores can make one feel relaxed and stress-free.
After taking our seats, a friendly wait staff approached our table and asked for our orders. The thing I loved about Panglao is the laid-back atmosphere. No one is rushing, no one is eating fast, no one is even talking fast. It was like everyone was taking their sweet time and savoring every experience, every moment. Before long, our orders arrived.
Cream of Corn and Mushroom- Php95.00
The soup was a bit salty for my taste and tasted like the usual instant soups that you can buy in the supermarket. I was at least happy with the big slices of mushrooms that they've included in the soup. The pizza, on the other hand, was very good. We were disappointed because they didn't exactly use a real Prosciutto just like what was stated in their menu. They didn't even use bacon as a replacement but rather used sweet pork ham as a substitute. However, the black olives made an impact to the pizza's overall taste making it pleasant to eat. The Calamares was also good because they used fresh squid and the batter didn't overpower the freshness of the seafood. As for the Fried Chicken, it was okay but the batter was a bit salty for me.
I really do not know if I am just used to less salt or if they just love putting more salt in their dishes. Oh well.
Dinner was very nice. The weather was perfect, the people were friendly, the food was nice, the company was wonderful. If you'll ever stop by Coco Vida Bar and Restaurant, I recommend the Calamares and the Pizza.
