BOHOL ISLAND TOUR P.2
After our lunch at Balicasag Island, we were off to the sand bar.
It was actually my first time to see a sand bar and I was so excited. Sand bars are usually created by the water and current movement. The area in the shallow water of the sea creates a small, long mound of sand which is submerged during high tide and which can be seen during low tides. Going to the sand bar was amazing because one can clearly see the rocks, sea grass and the tons of starfish lying on the seabed.
As soon as we parked on the sand bar, the view took my breath away.
We started to walk towards the little island with trees, making the sand bar our guide.
The water surrounding the sand bar was crystal clear and we even caught tiny hermit crabs.
As soon as we reached the lush greens, we decided to get back to where our boat was and explore the end of the sand bar. Just walking the stretch of this sand bar will give you a golden tan.
We even saw a couple of jellyfish, some starfish and sea urchins.
We spent almost 2 hours in the area. It was so peaceful because not a lot of people go to the sand bar. The view was simply magnificent and the tranquility of the place was something I really cherished because it was as if time stood still at that very moment. It was almost 2:00pm when we decided to go back to Alona Beach.
Soon enough, we could already see our hotel, Lost Horizon Resort.
Such a wonderful day. *smile*
